The world’s largest Afrobeats and Amapiano movement, Afro Nation Portugal, is bringing the feeling of summer closer than ever today by unveiling a monumental third wave lineup announcement. With momentum building for the sixth edition taking place Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July 2026, almost 20 more artists join the stacked lineup today including two more headline names, Burna Boy and Uncle Waffles.
One of the most influential African artists of all time, Burna Boy’s presence at Afro Nation always feels historic. Last summer, the Nigerian superstar launched his latest album ‘No Sign of Weakness’ from the sands of Praia da Rocha, delivering a defining moment for fans on the beach. Since then, anticipation has been mounting after Burna shared cryptic ‘Burna Nation’ teasers across social media, paired with the coordinates of Portimão, sending the Afro Nation community into speculation mode worldwide.
With a shared history that stretches back to Afro Nation’s debut edition in 2019, Burna Boy’s journey is intertwined with the festival’s own rise. As an artist capable of selling out any stadium around the world and breaking records at every turn, his enduring connection with Afro Nation speaks to the festival’s unique pull and deep value to the community. It’s not just a concert, it’s a cultural movement. Afro Nation remains the only festival stage in the world that truly unites the global African diaspora in this way, creating a space where artists and fans come together for something far bigger than a performance.

Joining Burna Boy on the Lit Stage are a new wave of standout names shaping the sound of now, including Ghanaian duo R2Bees, Nigeria’s Wande Coal, Uganda’s Joshua Baraka and Mavo. Today’s announcement adds further depth and energy to a lineup that already features headliners Asake and Wizkid, who are currently breaking streaming records together with new joint EP, alongside Tyla, and special guests Gunna and Kehlani.
On the unstoppable Piano People Stage, Afro Nation welcomes back one of its most defining figures, Uncle Waffles. A true pioneer of the Amapiano movement, Uncle Waffles has delivered some of the most unforgettable closing moments in Afro Nation history, each one further propelling South African dance music onto the global stage. Her sets have become landmark experiences for the community, joyful and high energy celebrations that echo far beyond the beach. Fresh off a hugely successful run of global shows and following the landmark debut Piano People event in South Africa, Uncle Waffles’ impact continues to grow at pace. Her return to Portugal marks another full circle moment for a movement she has helped shape from the ground up.
She is joined on the Piano People Stage by an expansive lineup of Amapiano innovators and scene leaders, including the highly influential Kelvin Momo, DJ Lag, DJ Tshegu, Felo Le Tee, JAZZWRLD & Thukuthela, Njelic, Nkosasana Daughter, Que DJ, Royal Musiq, Scotts Maphuma, Skyla Tylaa and Success SA, all announced today.
Beyond the music, Afro Nation Portugal continues to elevate the festival experience with newly launched Travel Package options. Designed as an all in one solution, these packages combine festival tickets with accommodation from 1 to 6 July, offering a seamless journey to the beach. With four tailored tiers, The Zen Den and Hangout, The House Of All Nations, The Marina Drip and The Flex, fans can choose the experience that best fits their style.
With more still to be announced, Afro Nation Portugal 2026 is shaping up to be the biggest celebration yet. As the movement continues to grow across continents, Afro Nation remains a defining force in global culture, uniting people, music, identity and community like nowhere else in the world.
