Tramlines is an annual event held in Hillsborough Park, Sheffield. The festival’s first edition took place in 2009, originally a multi-venue, city-wide event, Tramlines moved to Hillsborough park in 2018.
Today, Tramlines sees 40,000 revellers visit Hillsborough for 3 days of music, family entertainment, comedy, poetry + DJs. A proper celebration of the Arts and Sheffield.
Every year in July, it hits Hillsborough Park with an amazing blur of global stars, local talent, and event-wide entertainment. Its stages have played host to some very big names: The Streets, Noel Gallagher, Public Enemy, Little Simz, Annie Mac, Sam Fender, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Kasabian, among many more of the well-established and rising stars that come from Sheffield's really thriving music scene.
It's not only music; at the Festival, there is everything for every taste: comedy lineups, outdoor cinema, child-friendly activities, dancing tents, and a bustling street food village. Add to that The Fringe at Tramlines: during the event weekend, free live shows take over pubs, bars, and outdoor areas across Sheffield City Centre to further extend the in-town atmosphere.
2025 In Reflection
Tramlines, which takes place every July, celebrated its 17th edition from 25–27 July 2025, with headliners Pulp, Reytons, and Kasabian delivering memorable performances on the Sarah Nulty Main Stage. Supporting acts included Spiritualized, Franz Ferdinand, and The Last Donner Party, among others, performing across five stages. The music was complemented by artisan beers, retro clothing stalls, family-friendly activities, and the overall vibrancy of the festival atmosphere, which has cemented Tramlines’ place as a summer highlight.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Tramlines Festival has announced three amazing headliners for its 2026 edition. Fatboy Slim, Courteeners, and Wolf Alice are the acts that the festival will be showcasing next summer.
The long-running festival — which started in 2009 — is coming back to Sheffield’s Hillsborough Park from 24–26 July. It is rapidly growing its reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting urban music events.
There are a lot of major talents in the 2026 line-up, and the legends of pop like Gabrielle and Rick Astley, are the main attractions, along with the indie heavyweights Kaiser Chiefs, Blossoms, and The Vaccines. On top of that, the Grammy Award winners Wet Leg are there to pump up the star power and so is Reverend and the Makers, Sheffield’s very own band returning to perform in their hometown.
With its signature mix of iconic acts and exciting newcomers, Tramlines 2026 promises to be an unforgettable weekend, once again cementing its place as a highlight of Sheffield's vibrant cultural calendar.
