Soul Town Festival is back once again with a stunning line-up of the best soul, disco, motown and reggae on September 5th 2026. This year, the event comes back to the bigger and better Croydon Recreation Ground in Beckenham, Kent which was such a great achievement last year and the first wave of artists announced are The Commodores, Wet Wet Wet, The Spinners, The Sugarhill Gang, Eternal, Kenny Thomas, Fil Straughan, and Sol & The Gang, plus more to be announced.
Soul Town Festival is a perfect day escape with plenty of musical magic, a day full of artists, over 40 food vendors as well as dancers, rides, attractions, live steel bands, face painting, glitter stalls, hair braiding, fashion and craft stalls and so much more. The venue is a nice green area in Beckenham with more bars, more staff, more toilets, and better disabled access and viewing points.
On top of that, you have an extensive list of food and drink options to keep you powered throughout the day. As for the food, there is something for everyone like the wood-fired pizzas, vegan wings, and of course meals, desserts, and sweet treats.
Besides this, there is a range of special VIP areas from where the performance can be viewed and VIP tickets bring along several benefits like fast-track entry, a drink and food voucher (beer, wine, spirit, and mixer), Soul Town merchandise, private bar, luxury toilets, makeup bar, prime stage viewing area at both stages, and much more.
The fresh sound of the music is going to be spread out across two stunning main stages, that are not just illuminating with the lights, but also the sound, and the visuals for the perfect summer vibe. First off, The Commodores is one of the major names on the bill; their career over several decades has more than 100 million albums sold, 20 No.1 hits, and 10 Top 10 albums to their credit. The will take audiences on a journey through the very best of funk, soul, R&B, and pop.
Also, it will be a concert of Wet Wet Wet with founding member Graeme Clark, long-time guitarist Graeme Duffin, and fronted by Kevin Simm. The band will bring their iconic hits to the stage, including “Sweet Little Mystery”, “Angel Eyes”, “Goodnight Girl”, “With a Little Help from My Friends”, “Sweet Surrender”, “Julia Says”, and the timeless “Love Is All Around”.
The Spinners will demonstrate the reason for their title of being ‘One of a Kind’ and convey the message of how changes in members can keep musical heritage alive, especially that of America’s great R&B vocal groups. Along with this, the Sugarhill Gang, Eternal, Kenny Thomas, and a lot of others have been booked to perform at the festival, pledging an unmissable line-up.
